The paper presents an evaluation of the effects generated by the Common Agricultural Policy adoption in the eight Central and East-European countries that joined the European Union in the year 2004.
The impact assessment starts from the macro-economic developments, from the evolution of the population’s incomes and food demand, next focusing upon the problems of the agricultural and rural development sector. Certain conclusions and recommendations are also highlighted, that may be useful to the New Member States Romania and Bulgaria.
